Why This Work Matters
This work exists because there comes a point in midlife when effort stops working and listening becomes essential.
For many women, this season brings a quiet but persistent tension: the sense that who they’ve been no longer fits, and that moving forward in the old ways would require self-betrayal. The work I offer is not about fixing or improving that moment, but about meeting it with honesty, presence, and care.
When women learn to inhabit themselves more fully — to listen to their bodies, trust their inner signals, and move at a pace their whole system can support — something fundamental shifts. Not as a performance or identity upgrade, but as a return to coherence. Life feels easier. Decisions become clearer. Action becomes more aligned.
I’m Buffy Owens. For over 20 years, I’ve worked with women at moments of transition, drawing from somatic movement, meditation, and embodied mentorship. My own life and practice have taught me that sustainable change doesn’t come from pushing through discomfort, but from learning how to stay present with what’s asking for attention.
That understanding shaped the SOMA Framework — a simple, embodied orientation that supports listening, discernment, and integration over time.
